Elderly Health Centres
The Department of Health has 18 Elderly Health Centres (EHCs) in Hong Kong. Elderly aged 65 and above can be enrolled as members of EHCs. Since there are a large number of applicants, new applicants may have to wait for quite some time to become enrolled as members.
The Health Bureau has set up District Health Centres (DHCs) or DHC Expresses in 18 districts to provide services including health risk factor assessment. Citizens residing or working in the district of the corresponding DHC / DHC Express can register as a DHC / DHC Express member and enjoy their services. Service Adjustment
Starting from 4 October 2024, 14 Elderly Health Centres provide mRNA COVID-19 vaccination service for all elderly aged 65 or above. Eligible persons MUST make prior booking via the Government Online Booking System (booking.covidvaccine.gov.hk) [Click here]. 18 Elderly Health Centres provide mRNA COVID-19 vaccine for members, members could approach your respective centre to arrange appointment. Starting from 18 December 2023 (Monday), Elderly Health Centres provide medical consultation service (for members only) and vaccination service only on specified days of the week:

*Under Government Vaccination Programme (GVP), the high-risk conditions for pneumococcal vaccination (PV) are as follows:
1. History of invasive pneumococcal disease, cerebrospinal fluid leakage or cochlear implant;
2. Chronic cardiovascular (except hypertension without complications), lung, liver or kidney diseases;
3. Metabolic diseases including diabetes mellitus or obesity (Body Mass Index 30 or above);
4. Immunocompromised states related to weakened immune system due to conditions such as asplenia, Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection/ Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or cancer/ steroid treatment; and
5. Chronic neurological conditions that can compromise respiratory functions or the handling of respiratory secretions, or increase the risk of aspiration, or those who lack the ability to take care of themselves.

Audiovisual and Booklet Packages is available in all 18 EHCs. However, there is limited stock in each EHC. Please call the EHCs before purchase.
